SECO MARINE (FÉTIS Group), with engineering support from SECOM ENGINEERING, has received an Approval in Principle (AIP) from Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore for a hydrogen storage and supply system designed for under-deck integration. This validation confirms the concept’s compliance in principle with BV NR678 (hydrogen-fueled ships) and marks a significant step toward low-emission architectures ready for deployment by shipyards and vessel owners.

The system is intended to feed fuel cells using compressed gaseous hydrogen stored in type IV tanks. Integrating the equipment in confined under-deck spaces opens new installation options without encroaching on operational areas and builds on an R&D program focused on risk reduction and on patented components featuring advanced safety functions.

For FÉTIS Group, this milestone strengthens the role of its companies as system integrators for maritime decarbonization, from design through industrialization, in close cooperation with authorities, shipyards, and operators.
