About us

Steady growth

Since 1978, Jacques and Marie-Paule FÉTIS have grown their company in line with changes in the sector. After our beginnings as a local distributor of engines, today FÉTIS Group is an international supplier of systems used throughout the life cycle of machines in three sectors: mobility, energy and industry.

Steady growth

Secodi, the first company of Fétis Group, is located along the Loire River in Nantes, France, and its growth has been closely tied to the Loire for more than 40 years.

Jacques and Marie-Paule FÉTIS, founders of Secodi, started their business selling and repairing Perkins diesel engines. The Bateaux de l’Erdre river cruisers and various small fishing boats were among their first customers. Today FÉTIS Group has expanded into new areas, with a view to promoting the energy transition by decarbonizing machines.

Damien FÉTIS, President, Évrard FÉTIS, Vice-President and Sébastien VERRON, CFO and General Secretary, remain approachable, decision-making is direct, and the hierarchical structure is clear and simple.

Our History

1978

Founding of Secodi

Jacques and Marie-Paul Fétis established Secodi in Nantes, France, marking the beginning of what would become the Fétis Group. Initially focused on distributing diesel engines for agriculture, marine, and power generation, the company quickly built a reputation for technical expertise and customer service. Though it started serving only western France, strong client relationships fueled rapid expansion, soon covering the entire country.

1991

Expanding into Complementary Technologies

Recognizing opportunities beyond diesel engines, the Fétis family extended their business into hydraulics and instrumentation, natural complements to their core offering. These additions strengthened customer relationships and deepened the group’s technical expertise. This strategy of expanding into adjacent technologies has remained central to the group’s philosophy, ensuring continued innovation and value for clients.

2004

A New Era of Research & Development

After a successful early career in cybersecurity, Damien Fétis, son of the founders, returned to the company with a vision for innovation. Under his leadership, the group established a dedicated R&D center, marking a major step forward. This new capability enabled the company to move beyond distribution, offering advanced control systems, software solutions, and hydraulic integration services to off-highway OEMs.

2012

International expansion strategy

The Fétis Group launched its international expansion with an initial move into Finland. This first step was part of a structured strategy to expand beyond France, access new growth markets, and reduce dependence on a single geography. Internationalisation was viewed as a long-term lever to strengthen resilience and support sustainable group-wide development

2017

A New Generation Takes the Helm

With the founders passing leadership to the next generation, the group entered a new phase of governance. Damien Fétis was joined by his brother Evrard and financial executive Sébastien Verron to form a new board. Their mission was clear: to build on the company’s strong foundation while steering it toward future growth and transformation.

2022

A New Name, A Bold New Vision

To reflect its growing ambitions and unify its businesses, the group rebranded as The Fétis Group. This change reinforced the synergies between its companies and positioned the group for the next stage of growth. At the same time, the company launched its CAP 2030 strategy, an ambitious plan to lead the way in decarbonization across its industries, setting a clear direction for the future.

2024

North America: A Strategic Entry

The group took its first steps in North America with the opening of a new facility to manufacture cable harnesses for off-highway and specialty vehicles. Leveraging its deep expertise in this domain, the group identified wiring harnesses as a critical entry point, an essential component for every OEM. This expansion marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to the North American market.
